Therapy is the foundation of recovery at Clearhaven Recovery Center. Each client participates in a range of sessions designed to build awareness, strengthen coping skills, and improve emotional health.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps people recognize the thoughts and behaviors that lead to substance use. By identifying these patterns, clients can begin to challenge and replace them with healthier ways of thinking. It’s practical, effective, and widely used in addiction treatment because it helps clients take back control of their choices and responses.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on emotional balance. Many people in recovery struggle with strong emotions, impulsive reactions, or self-criticism. DBT teaches mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation — helping clients respond to challenges without turning to substances.

Group Therapy

Group therapy gives clients the chance to connect with others who understand what they’re going through. These sessions create a sense of community and accountability while helping clients build confidence and communication skills.

Family Therapy

Addiction doesn’t happen in isolation, and neither does recovery. Family therapy helps rebuild trust and strengthen family relationships that may have been damaged by addiction. These sessions provide education, improve communication, and help loved ones support recovery in healthy ways.

Trauma-Informed Care

For many, addiction and trauma are deeply connected. Trauma-informed care acknowledges this link and helps clients process painful experiences safely. This approach focuses on empowerment and healing rather than re-traumatization, allowing clients to move forward without being defined by the past.
